We are always looking for artists to feature! We currently showcase a variety of work including photography, crochet, knitting, pyrography, paper crafts, jewelry, painting and so much more. Please take note that while we're always interested in artists and seeing what you have to offer, we are at capacity at this moment and not accepting new consignment arrangements. But please let us know if you'd like to be notified when this changes!
What's in it for you?
Handmade With Love is set up to showcase each and every artist in our store, on our website, and on social media. We not only sell your handmade items, but we partner our branding with yours so our customers know exactly who they are purchasing from. Keeping your branding helps you sell in multiple markets. We do the hard part of getting customers in the door. We keep track of inventory. We package and ship your items to online customers. We provide customer service. We sell your items at select vendor fairs. We do everything we can reasonably do to sell your handmade items.
We currently offer a couple of selling options for our featured artists.
Option 1: Consignment - no space rental
With Option 1, we will set up a consignment agreement where we will sell your items in our store, on our website, and at craft fairs for you at a 60/40 split - meaning 60% of your sold profits go into your pocket once a month. You can have as much inventory in the store as you'd like. Pretty simple, eh? Includes your own featured artist page on our website!
Option 2: Consignment - with space rental
With Option 2, we will set up a consignment agreement where we will sell your items in our store, on our website, and at craft fairs for you at a 75/25 split, plus a set space rental fee. This means you will receive 75% of your sold profits, but will pay an agreed upon space rental fee each month. The space rental fee is dependent on the size of your items and how many things you'd like to sell in the store. Includes your own featured artist page on our website!
Option 3: Consignment - per piece price
With Option 3, we will set up a verbal/written agreement where we will sell your items in our store, on our website, and at craft fairs for you at a retail rate and pay you a set minimum when an item sells. This means you will set a minimum price for each item you bring in and we will sell it at an amount we are able to. This option does not, by default, come with an annual agreement, as Option 1 & 2 do. But we can create one if you'd prefer.
Option 4: Wholesale
With Option 4, you will send us a list of your handmade items available at a wholesale rate. We will purchase your items at that rate and sell them in our store, on our website and at craft fairs at retail value.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a business license to do consignment with Handmade With Love?
It is highly recommended that you create at least a DBA (Doing-Business-As). You will fill out a W9 form to set up your monthly payment with us and to show that you were paid when filing taxes. You will also receive a 1099 form from us should you receive $599 or more in a year, also for tax purposes. Having a business license will protect both Handmade With Love and you/your business should there be any issues.
What if I don't have a business name?
A business name isn't required to hold a consignment agreement or to sell wholesale with Handmade With Love. We will gladly brand all of your merchandise with your name.
When & how should I get my inventory to you if I’m doing consignment?
If you are local to the state of Washington, we can make arrangements to meet at the store in Port Orchard when you are ready for us to start selling your inventory. If you are not local to Washington, then when your inventory is ready, you can ship it directly to us. But definitely not before an agreement between us is signed! We want to make sure our expectations are 100% clear all around.
Where exactly will my stuff be sold?
Handmade With Love has a storefront in Port Orchard, WA which is our homebase. We focus our sales to within the store and on our website. We do also attend some select vendor fairs and will always post where we'll be on our Facebook page and website.
Do you have exclusive rights to sell my merchandise?
Absolutely not, unless you want us to! You are welcome to sell your merchandise in other venues and through your own means.
